The teardrop muscle or Vastus Medialis (VMO) sits just above the knee on the inside of the leg. On bodybuilders and figure competitors, this muscle can be very developed and looks like a tear drop, thus the name. And when developed gives AMAZING shape to your legs!
This muscle is a knee extender and knee stabilizer. True, you can target it well on the leg extension machine BUT since it's job is extending and locking the leg as well as stabilizing the knee, it is wise to do other movements to best engage it and get it to grow.
